2. PRAYER SERVICE FOR UKRAINE NEXT SUNDAY AT CATHEDRAL IN SCRANTON
All people of goodwill are encouraged to gather at the Cathedral of Saint Peter, located at 315 Wyoming Avenue in Scranton, for a special Prayer Service for an End to the War in Ukraine on Sunday, Sept. 25, at 2:30 p.m. During the Prayer Service, everyone in attendance will be invited to offer prayers for peace in Ukraine and for the innocent people who continue to suffer in the country. Fr. Myron Myronyuk, Pastor, St. Vladimir Ukrainian Catholic Church of Scranton, and Most Rev. Joseph C. Bambera, Bishop of Scranton, will lead the Prayer Service. The Prayer Service will also be broadcast live on CTV: Catholic Television of the Diocese of Scranton and livestream on the Diocese of Scranton website, YouTube channel and social media platforms. A goodwill offering for those on the ground helping the Ukrainian people will be collected at the conclusion of the Prayer Service.
March 25th is the Feast of the Annunciation. Divine Liturgy will be offered
at 9:30 AM. Come to honor God’s Good News to the Blessed Virgin Mary.
Pray that through the intercession of St. Michael and the Blessed Mother of God Good news may come to the people of Ukraine and the world.
Holy Michael, the Archangel, defend us in battle; be our safeguard against the wickedness and snares of the devil. May God rebuke him we humbly pray; and you, Prince of the heavenly host, y the power of God cast into hell Satan and all the evil spirits, who prowl through the world seeking the ruin of souls.
Amen
Fr. Myron Myronyuk, Pastor of St. Vladimir Church in Scranton, has scheduled a Moleben to the Mother of God this Thursday at 5 PM. We will appeal to her Maternal protection for Ukraine.
In 2016 Ukrainian Greek Catholic Patriarch Sviatoslav at Fatima consecrated Ukraine to the Immaculate Heart of Mary. He urged penance. To request her maternal intercession there will be a Divine Liturgy Saturday morning 2/26 at 10 AM.
Fr. Myron has also asked that anyone wanting to help Ukraine donate a check payable to St. Vladimir’s Church.
