  1. annual Texas Roadhouse Fundraiser

We are holding our annual Texas Roadhouse Fundraiser once again. Christmas gift cards are available in $5 increments ranging from $5 to $100. We receive 10% of all sales. Orders will be taken from Nov. 2nd through Dec. 1st. Order forms are located near bulletins. Please return to Daria by Sunday,  Dec. 1st. You can also place an order by calling or texting Daria @ (570) 430-1001.  Your support is greatly appreciated!

  • Cold Medicine and Vitamin Drive for Ukraine

St. Vladimir’s will be collecting Adult Cold Medicine for Soldiers as well as Childrens Melatonin and Vitamins for Children in Ukraine.  These items are very much needed for the winter months.  You can drop off these items in the back of the Church.  Thank you to everyone for your support.

  • TOYS FOR TOTS AT ST. VLADIMIR’S

Our parish has been approved as an official Toys for Tots drop off site!  Starting next Saturday, November 23, 2024, there will be two places for you to drop off new unwrapped toys for children in the area.  One will be located in the church hall and the other in the vestibule.  The toy drive will run until December 12, 2024.  For any additional information please contact Maria Ruane 570-877-5899

ANNOUNCEMENTS

  • EOTC CHILDREN’S BOOK DRIVE

Our neighbours at the EOTC will be holding their annual Christmas book drive through December.  They are in need of new/gently used children’s books from birth through young adult.  There will be a drop box starting next Saturday, November 23, 2024 in the church vestibule.

  • ST. Francis of Assisi SOUP KITCHEN COLLECTION

There will be a drop box starting next Saturday, November 23, 2024, in the church vestibule for canned and boxed foods for St. Francis of Assisi soup kitchen in Scranton.  They are in big need of canned vegetables of all kinds and pasta, mainly rotini, penne, and rigatoni. This will run until December 19, 2024.

  • Philip’s Fast/Nativity FAST

The Nativity Fast is a 40-day period of fasting, prayer, and reflection that begins on November 15 and ends on December 24.   The Nativity Fast is a time to prepare for the birth of Christ and to contemplate the significance of his coming. The fast is also known as Philip’s Fast. Focus is on Fasting, Prayer, Reading, Confession, Church attendance, Almsgiving.  The Nativity Fast is a time to reflect on the role of Mary’s obedience to God and to contemplate the love God has for us.

  • Thanksgiving Day Divine Liturgy

This Thursday, our Thanksgiving Day Divine Liturgy will be held at 9:00am.   Begin your Holiday by attending Church on this Special Day and join us as we give Thanks to the Lord for the many Blessings bestowed on us.

  • Collection for Church Repairs next Weekend

A reminder that Donations for Church repairs can be made next Weekend, November 30th and December 1st. Please use the specially marked envelope to make your contribution.  Thank you to everyone for your generosity toward the upkeep of our buildings and property.

  • Holodomor-Genocide Remembrance

The month of November for Ukrainians, Ukrainians in the heart and people of good will is a time of honoring the victims of the Holodomor, the terrible and planned by the Stalinist-Soviet regime famine of Ukrainians in Central, Eastern and Southern Ukraine in 1932-1933. The forced and prolonged famine of millions of Ukrainians has led to the deaths of at least 10.5 million people.  Honor the memory of all those who perished by lighting a candle or sponsoring a Divine Liturgy in their honor.

  1. Christmas Flea Market next Saturday in Nanticoke

Holy Transfiguration Ukrainian Catholic Church, 240 Center St in Nanticoke will be holding a Christmas Flea Market on next Saturday, Nov. 30th, and Saturday, Dec. 7th from 9am to 2pm.  Ukrainian Basket Raffle.  Eat-in Ethnic Foods will be available.  Pyrohy for Sale.  Potato Pancakes.  Christmas Ornaments, Christmas Trees, Nativity sets and a variety of Christmas Decor.  Also, great variety of Flea Market items and Furniture.  Great prices!  Great food!

Father all-powerful, your gifts of love are countless and your goodness infinite. On Thanksgiving Day we come before you with gratitude for your kindness: open our hearts to concern for our fellow men and women, so that we may share your gifts in loving service.

We ask this through our Lord Jesus Christ, your Son, who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, for ever and ever. Amen.
