  1. PYROHY ANNOUNCEMENT

FIRST PYROHY SALE!!!! – Saturday, November 4th  – Still only $8 per dozen.  Frozen, uncooked only.  This is a change from what we have done in previous years.  Still the same delicious recipe! First come, first serve.  Very limited availability so call today.  Do not call the parish office to order, call Leslie at 570-342-3749.  No orders will be accepted after October 27th and there will be NO waiting list.  Thank you in advance for your cooperation.

  • PYROHY PICK UP SCHEDULE

Pick up times for our first pyrohy sale will be SATURDAY,  NOV 4.  from 2:30pm. until 10 minutes before the 4:pm Litugy and after Liturgies on both Saturday and Sunday in the church hall. If you did not place your order, call Leslie today at 570.342.3749.   * Limited availability *   First call / first served.  No limits.

  • Workers needed for Potato Peeling on Wednesday

The peeling of Potatoes for the making of Pyrohy will take place this Wednesday, November 1st, beginning at 9:30am.  Workers are needed to help with this important task.  Thank you to those who are able to come and help.

  • Turn Back your Clocks next Weekend

A reminder, Daylight Savings Time Ends next Saturday, November 4th.  Set your clocks back one hour Saturday night before you go to bed so that you will arrive at the correct time for Church on Sunday. We are looking forward to having a well-rested group.

ANNOUNCEMENTS

  • AUTUMN HARVEST DINNER SCHEDULED

St. Vladimir Church will be sponsoring it’s Autumn Harvest Roast Beef Dinner on SUNDAY. NOV. 12 in the parish center.  This will be a sit down dinner with takeout option available.  The menu consists of roast beef, mashed potato, gravy, hot vegetable, dinner roll w/ butter, and dessert.  Cost: $20.00.  By advance order only!  Reservations must be in no later than MONDAY. NOV. 6.   Call Maria at 570. 503. 1514.   Don’t delay! Call today! 50/50 and Basket Raffles available!    Special guests will be in attendance!   Ukrainian soldiers currently being rehabilitated in Philadelphia for injuries sustained in combat will be joining us that day.  Please plan to attend and show your support for these brave men.  See you there!

  • DIVINE LITURGY CHANGE FOR HARVEST DINNER ONLY!

On Sunday, November 12th, the day of our Harvest Dinner, the Divine Liturgy will be changed to 10:30AM.  The Harvest Dinner will take place following the liturgy.  This is only for that Sunday.

  • DESSERTS NEEDED

Please consider donating a  homemade dessert for the upcoming Autumn Harvest Dinner.  Kindly bring your dessert donation to the church hall on Sat. Nov. 11 or before Liturgy on Sun. Nov. 12.   Your generosity is greatly appreciated.

  • THEME BASKETS NEEDED

The fast-approaching Harvest Dinner Sunday, November 12th 2023 is in need of theme baskets for our raffle. Please consider creating one or donating cash towards having one put together. We are asking for baskets donations to be in by November 5, 2023. Kristen Waznak is coordinating this popular project and is available to offer ideas, suggestions, and hands-on assistance. She can be reached at 570-241-1223. Thank you for your participation and generosity in making this popular fundraiser another success.

A reminder that Donations for Church repairs can be made next Weekend, November 4th & 5th. Please use the specially marked envelope to make your contribution.  Thank you to everyone for your generosity toward the upkeep of our buildings and property.

  1. Roast Beef and Halupki Dinner this Sunday in Primrose

St. Nicholas Ukrainian Catholic Church in Minersville will hold a Roast Beef and Halupki Dinner this Sunday, October 29th at St. Nicholas Hall, Rt. 901 in Primrose.  11:00am-1:00pm.  Drive-thru pick up only.  Includes Roast Beef, Halupki, Mashed Potatoes, Filling and Vegetable.  $15.  Call 570-544-4581 to order.

  1. Six-month Lottery Calendar in Simpson

Ss. Peter and Paul Ukrainian Catholic Church in Simpson will be sponsoring a six-month lottery calendar.  Each $20 calendar includes 2 numbers for the pick-3 evening drawing of the Pennsylvania Lottery.  Prizes include $25 on weekdays, $40 on Sundays and five $100 prizes.  Calendars purchased by check will be mailed to return address.  Make checks payable to Ss.   1. ANNUAL TURKEY-FEST DINNER-

Saints Peter and Paul Ukrainian Greek Catholic Church, will host their annual Turkey Fest Dinner as a take-out only event on Saturday, November 4th in their school hall on the corner of West Chestnut and North River Streets in Wilkes-Barre.  Pick-ups will be from 12:00(noon) to 4:00pm.  The event will feature our traditional turkey dinner and basket raffle.  Dinners will be $15.00 for adults and $9.00 for children.  Walk-in customers will be welcomed, but reservations are strongly encouraged.  Tell your friends and family.  Non-perishable food items will be collected for donation to a local food pantry.”

Please include in your prayers those members of our parish who are in hospitals, care homes, rehabilitation facilities & those who are not able to join us actively in our church community.
